Who we are

LondonEY (London Early Years) at londonearlyyears.com is run by LondonEY (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What LondonEY is

LondonEY is an information service that helps people find and compare early-years settings in London. We do not run any nursery, school or childminding service. We do not recommend or guarantee any setting, and we are not an agency or broker.

The information is a starting point

We build our pages from official sources, mainly Ofsted and the Department for Education. See data and methodology.
Information can be out of date or contain errors, including mistakes we make when processing it. We take care, but we do not promise that it is complete, current or accurate.
Ofsted reports, school details and fees can change at any time. Always check the current Ofsted report and ask the setting directly for fees, availability and funded-hours details before you decide.
Nothing on LondonEY is professional, legal, financial or tax advice. Funding rules are set by the government and your local council, and they change. Our guides and calculator give estimates based on the assumptions stated.
Choosing childcare is your decision. Visit settings, ask questions and use your own judgement.

No endorsement

A setting appearing on LondonEY, or having a high grade, does not mean we or Ofsted recommend it. LondonEY is independent and is not endorsed by Ofsted, the Department for Education, any council or any other public body. Sponsored placements are paid for and are labelled “Sponsored”; they are not recommendations. See the sponsor terms.

Using the site

You may use LondonEY for your own personal, non-commercial use, and to read and share links to our pages. You must not:

copy or scrape the site in bulk, or use it in a way that harms its performance or security;
try to gain unauthorised access to the site, our systems or other people’s data;
use forms to send spam, false claims or abusive messages;
claim a setting that you are not authorised to speak for; or
present our content as yours, or suggest that we endorse you or your business.

We can block access or remove content if these terms are broken.

Our content and the data

The official data we use is reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0. You can reuse that original data from its publishers under the same licence.
Our own text, design, selection and arrangement of the data, and the LondonEY name and logo, belong to LondonEY or our licensors. You may quote short extracts with a link back to us. For anything more, ask us first.
Names of settings, groups and organisations are used only to identify them.

Information from settings and providers

If you claim a listing or send us information:

you confirm you are authorised to act for the setting and that what you send is true, lawful and not misleading;
you give us a non-exclusive, free licence to publish and edit it on LondonEY and in our promotion of the site, and you can ask us to remove it at any time;
we verify claims by hand and may decline, edit or remove content; and
you will not be given a better position because you claim a listing. A free claimed profile has no effect on ranking.

Please do not send us photos of children or personal data about children.

Corrections

If something on LondonEY is wrong, use the correction form. We will check it against the official record. See data and methodology.

Links to other sites

LondonEY links to Ofsted, councils, settings and other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Subject to that:

LondonEY is provided free “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors.
We are not liable for loss that results from you relying on information on the site, including a decision about a childcare provider, or from the actions of any setting, sponsor or other third party.
We are not liable for loss of profit, business, goodwill or data, or for indirect or consequential loss.
If we are found liable to you despite the above, our total liability for all claims relating to your use of the free parts of the site is limited to £100.

Changes

We may change the site and these terms. The date at the top shows when this page last changed. By continuing to use the site after a change you accept the new terms.

Law and courts

These terms and any dispute about them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
