LondonEY lists every early-years setting we can find in London from official Ofsted and Department for Education records. If you run a nursery, pre-school or nursery school, you are already on the site. This page explains what you can do about it, and what paying does and does not do.
Your listing is free
Every setting appears on the area pages for where it is, with its Ofsted result and a link to the official report. You do not need to pay to be listed, and you do not need to pay to be found.
Claim your free listing
Claiming lets you add the facts that Ofsted’s records do not hold, so parents can compare you properly:
- fees, or “fees on request”
- funded places you offer (for children under two, two-year-olds, and three and four-year-olds)
- current vacancies
- opening hours and how to book a visit
- a short description of your approach, for example Montessori, forest school or bilingual
- photos you own and have permission to use
How it works:
- Fill in the claim form. Please give us your Ofsted URN (the number in your Ofsted report address) and a business email address or phone number we can check.
- We check that you run the setting. We do this by hand, usually by replying from our own inbox or phoning the number Ofsted or your website lists. There are no logins or passwords to set up.
- We apply what you send. Anything you supply is labelled as provider-supplied. We write descriptions in our own words and we may ask for evidence.
- We show Ofsted’s information exactly as Ofsted published it. You cannot edit an inspection result, and nobody can pay us to.
Claiming is free. If we later add paid extras for providers, such as more photos on a profile, we will say so on the page where they appear, and they will never affect ranking.
Correct something that is wrong
If a fact on your page is wrong, or we have grouped your setting under the wrong operator, tell us. Corrections are free, and sponsors get no faster or better treatment than anyone else.
- Use the correction form, or contact us.
- Say which page and what is wrong, and give a source if you have one (for example your Ofsted report).
- We check it against the official record and fix it. If the official record itself is wrong, you will need to ask Ofsted or the Department for Education to correct it, because we show their data as published.

Sponsored placements
If you want more visibility, you can sponsor a page, for example your neighbourhood, your borough or a category such as Montessori nurseries. Family businesses such as baby classes, swim schools and nanny agencies can sponsor guide pages.
- A sponsored slot sits in a separate band, marked “Sponsored”.
- It is not part of the ranked list and does not move anyone up or down.
- A page shows no more than three sponsored slots.
- Billing is monthly, through Stripe, and you can cancel anytime.
- Settings must have an active Ofsted registration, safeguarding standards met, and no current “Urgent improvement” grade or legacy “Inadequate” overall grade. A setting that is not eligible can still have a free listing.

What paying does not do
We say this plainly because parents need to be able to trust the lists, and so do you.
- Paying never changes rank. Order comes from evidence and from the filters a parent chooses.
- Paying never hides another setting, including on your own page.
- Paying never changes the Ofsted result shown. Your grades appear in the same way as everyone’s, with the date and a link to the official report.
- Paying does not mean Ofsted or LondonEY recommends you, and you must not say it does.
- Paying does not buy editorial influence over guides, area text or how we rate and list settings.
What we do not promise
LondonEY is new. We do not yet have a track record of visitors, enquiries or places filled for providers, so we do not claim one. We will not promise a number of visits, enquiries or places.
What we do instead: we count the clicks on every sponsored slot and the visits to every page, and we share the figures for your slot on request. Founding sponsors also get a traffic guarantee, agreed in writing before they pay. The details are on the sponsor page.
Common questions
Do I have to pay to be on LondonEY? No. Every setting we find in the official records is listed for free.
Can I pay to appear first? No. Nothing you can buy changes the order of any list.
Can I remove my listing? Ofsted publishes your registration and inspection results, so the basic record of your setting can stay. If you think something about your listing is wrong or unfair, tell us. Childminders are not listed by name or address at all. See how we handle childminders.
